Reporting to the Director of Product Development, the Associate Program Manager (APM) is responsible for product and innovation development relating to hard goods ideation, engineering, sourcing and manufacturing. The PM will utilize their leadership, technical and collaborative skills to ensure goals are accomplished within appointed timeframes, cost targets and budget parameters.



Product Development

  • Collaborate with the Directors of Product and Brand to develop and optimize the product roadmap to align with company initiatives, maintain innovative positioning, brand alignment, drive sales and meet growth targets.
  • Understand the KontrolFreek customer as well as the relevant marketplace; Leverage knowledge of the customer and trends to develop and optimize products, categories and assortments.
  • Direct R&D efforts to conceptualize and design new products and packaging from start to finish.
  • Manage, track and allocate product samples and submissions through each stage of the development process.
  • Establish external collaborations and partnerships as necessary to accelerate product development.

Project Management

  • Create and maintain product development schedules using web-based project management software Wrike.
  • Facilitate project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.

New Product Sourcing

  • Source and manage vendor relationships, ensuring that KontrolFreek is a key customer for all of our primary suppliers.
  • Initiate RFQ’s, develop target costing and negotiate with suppliers to achieve targets.

  • BS/BA in marketing, business administration, engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing products in the consumer products space; 2+ years in a position with direct work taking product from inception to launch
  • A strong track record of innovative development; creating products that did not exist, whether new form factors, materials, technology or customer experience
  • Exceptional skills managing suppliers of all shapes and sizes across a variety of geographies and industries
  • Thorough understanding of project management practices and tools.  Familiarity with web-based PM software Wrike a plus. 
  • Overseas sourcing and production experience preferred. An understanding of Asian culture and business practices required. Fluency in Chinese/Japanese languages a plus.
  • Interest or experience in the Gaming industry; Knowledge of video games and accessories preferred.
